Bhubaneswar(IMC Bureau):
The winter session of the Orissa assembly scheduled to begin tomorrow, promises to be a stormy one especially in the backdrop of cases of Maoist attacks, suicide by farmers and multi-crore mining scam.
With both opposition Congress and BJD’s former coalition partner BJP apparently in no mood to spare the Naveen Patnaik government on sundry issues, most particularly the mining scam billed as the biggest ever irregularity in the state, the session is set to witness uproarious scenes.
The recent attacks by Maoists, who have already expanded their network in 17 of the 30 districts of the state, is also expected to be highlighted by the Opposition and the ruling party’s ‘inability’ to curb the menace, a senior Congress member said.
Besides the mining scam, the government could face difficulties over the farmer suicides allegedly due to crop loss and loan burden.
