Indian Leaders greets on the occasion of Christmas

The President of India, Smt. Pratibha Devisingh Patil today greeted fellow citizens on the auspicious occasion of Christmas, which will be celebrated tomorrow. In a message, the President said, “On the occasion of Christmas, I extend my greetings to all my fellow citizens. The festival of Christmas reminds all of us of the profound message of Lord Jesus Christ to promote peace, unity and harmony in society and amongst one another. May this year’s Christmas inspire us on the path of mutual understanding for the overall development of the nation”.

The Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh, has also greeted the nation on the joyous occasion of Christmas.

In a message, Dr. Singh said that the festival is a celebration of peace, love and hope and a time to rejoice in the company of family and friends. The spirit of Christmas strengthens the values of brotherhood, tolerance and caring.

May the spirit of Christmas be with all our countrymen throughout the New Year, the Prime Minister added.

Naxals blast tehsil office in Chhatisgarh

In Chhattisgarh, Naxalites blasted a tehsil office building in Chindgarh and set fire to some office records. Naxalites also blocked the national highway between Jagdalpur and Sukmo and between Kirandul and Dantewada by laying trees on the road.

Police forces were rushed to the spot for clearing the road. The violence comes in wake of the one day bandh called by naxalites in the Dantewada district, to protest against the alleged police atrocities under the green hunt operation against the naxalites.

HM meets CSs, DGPs of naxal affected states in India

The Home Minister reviewed the situation in the five most naxal affected States in New Delhi on Thursday. Operational matters and availability of forces and their deployment were discussed at the day long meeting of Chief Secretaries and DGPs of Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Orissa, Bihar and Maharashtra. According to sources, the Centre has already made available about 50,000 central paramilitary forces in these states to fight the menace. Mr. Chidamabaram is also understood to have taken stock of development programmes to be carried out by the state governments in the Maoist-dominated areas once they are freed from the clutches of Naxals through operations. The meeting assumes significance as it comes immediately after the Jharkhand Assembly elections which delayed the much awaited large-scale coordinated anti-Naxal operations in the states. Sources said the Centre has already made available about 50,000 central paramilitary forces in these states.

Indian forces remain on alert because of hostile neighbour

Defence Minister A.K. Antony has said that the country’s Armed Forces would be always on high alert as Pakistan is not dismantling terrorist camps on its soil, despite India’s repeated requests.

Speaking to reporters at the Air Force Academy at Dundigal near Hyderabad today, the Defence Minister said the country is facing serious security concerns at present.
Earlier, while addressing the camps of air force officers, Mr Antony emphasized the need to fully exploit Aero Space Power of the country.

Mobile SMSes and E-cards failed to take the place of Paper Greetings card

Though the Generation-X has been adopting new methods like  SMS and  e-cards in order to greet their near and dear ones to celebrate the Christmas and  New Year wishes ,but the message of e-cards and SMSes  are not heart touching ones like the greeting card does, that’s why people are still sticking  with   the tradition way of expressing their personal message through paper greetings card. As a result , the greetings card business  has been  getting  a good response this year as the stall owners are busy in selling cards in Kendrapara and doing a good profit .

Customers are seen standing in front of greeting’s card  stalls to purchase  the attractive paper  greetings card from stall.

Bholi, a Greetings card vendor of Farzan Chowk, though the Generation –X  has been adopting fast changing society , but the traditional  method of conveying personal feelings with the medium of  greetings card still manage to win the hearts of older generation along with the generation next . The Greetings card ,which is considered as  out dated and old  fashioned medium  of expressing heart felt personal  messages packed with emotion and feelings in the society , has  still  managed to hold the sender’s love and care for the special one ,to whom the card is posted, by  expressing their personal feelings to their special ones.

According to Sruti sneha Das, the SMSes and e-cards is like message without   feelings. On the other hand , you can get the  care and  love for a person which is conveyed by sender in  the paper greetings card,which can be stored for years .

To express the feelings of your heart ,it needs words and you can get words packed with feelings in a greetings card than SMSes and e-card. That’s why we are sticking to the greetings card than SMSes , stated most of the college girls .

Another thing is  that the paper greetings card cannot be forwarded to another person ,but in the case of SMSes and E-cards one can forwarded to others .

“In the ongoing greetings card season, the greetings card ranges from Rs 1 to Rs150 get a place in my stall. I have sold varieties of cards starting from God and goddess to film stars . most of the customers are purchasing love cards , eco-friendly cards and  musical cards to express their New year wishes along with messages of Merry Christmas  “, said,Chitta Sethy, a greetings card stall owner near kendrapara college Chowk.

Some gift houses of the township areas have also been doing a good business in the Kendrapara township areas since last one week .To purchase the greetings card and gift items along with red  rose to celebrate the coming New year and Merry Christmas with their special buddies ,most of the college goers and youth masses are paying a visit to the gift houses   .

(2) miscreants hurled bombs at a shop

At least four motorbike borne miscreants ,who were in two motorbikes, on Thursday allegedly hurled three bombs at the Korua bazar-based Panda Home Appliances under Patkura police station. Later , the unidentified hooligans fled from the spot by terrorizing the locals and threatening the owner of the shop to provide them their earlier demanded ransom amount else the anti socials threatened the owner of the shop to face dire consequences in the coming days, informed Patkura police sources .

Some furniture were damaged but nobody sustained any hurt in the bomb hurling incident.

Police is conducting raid in different hide outs to nab the miscreants but no arrest has been made so far as police are  still clueless to identify the miscreants .

This is not the first case under Patkura police station that miscreants allegedly hurled bombs after the owner denied to fulfill the demands of the anti socials .If sources are to be believed about a dozen of bomb hurling cases  have been reported in the Patkura police station in last one year ,but police have failed to nab the accuseds in most of the cases .

Due to the callous attitude and inefficiency of the Patkura police to nab the accuseds and to control their  criminal activities , such crime is on the rising side here at Patkura area , the native of  Energy minister Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak,locals alleged.
